Trainee Manager

Overview

The Trainee managerial programme is one of our success stories within the Jordan Group over the last 5 years we have created a pipeline of talent for our growing business as we develop our trainee managers through our 16 month structured training programme. In order for them to progress and ultimately become competent managers, the trainee managerial programme allows individuals to receive training in all aspects of the operation of the store, it also gives the individual a chance to be accountable for managing staff and ensuring customer care standards are delivered to the highest standard.

Under the guidance of an experienced manager, you will participate in all employee-related management functions including training, coaching, motivation, discipline, performance appraisal, conflict resolution and the administration of human resources policies and initiatives. By gaining practical experience in each of these areas,  trainees managers will develop people skills that will allow them to successfully lead their own team of store employees. You will also be expected to serve as a role model for customer service, and set the pace for service excellence for all employees.

The trainee manager's primary responsibility is to participate in training experiences, learn new skills, and to demonstrate increasing proficiency and expertise with managerial responsibilities. The management trainee program should prepare you for the decisions you will be making, and the actions you will be taking in the areas of people, operation and merchandising management when you potentially assume the role of store manager.

Trainee managers will need to be willing to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays and extended shifts. During your time as a trainee manager you may be transferred to one or more of our different Jordan Centra store locations and you will be expected to adapt to these new environments quickly and easily.

You will also ensure banking transactions, daily paperwork, and company reports are completed accurately and on time. General maintenance, cleanliness, facility safety, and opening and closing procedures will also be your responsibility. In your role as a trainee manager, you may also be asked to assume complete responsibility for the store in the store manager's absence.
